A Climate Innovation Challenge (CIC) project funded by the World Bank and ADPC, being led by Zephyr Consulting and WaterSprint, to demonstrate “SLAMDAM (water-filled flood barrier)” as an effective climate adaptive solution under the CARE for South Asia.

The proposed solution is to demonstrate SLAMDAM as an effective solution to prevent damages from flooding by deploying the technology as a pilot project in Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan. The rising of flood water in the fast-flowing rivers and streams induce real-life threat of flooding due to rising water levels and catastrophes added by the glacial melt.
